Location
The intervention area is located in the parish called Serra de Água, a municipality of Ribeira Brava, and it embraces an area of nearly 12, 35 acres.
The access is directly established upon ER 101.
On the left side of the access, there is an underground car-park preceding the control gate, which allows the general public to park in their way to the sports facility. This is a way to clear space for other equipments at the surface.
In urbanistic terms, the projected sports area is one of the most fitting uses for a, until now, deprived space, since it does not compromise the valley’s ecosystem, nor does it violate, landscape-wise, the spectacular value of its chain of mountains.
It was the proposal’s claim that the ensemble would result in a fully integrated volumetry, if not completely dissolved in the landscape, portraying a coherent whole of a homogenous image, where the quality of the spaces is privileged, whether these are natural or built by man.
